gogoNET LIVE! 2 Agenda
The theme for this year's conference is "Trials & Tribulations" with the goal of preparing attendees to do an IPv6 field trial. gogoNET LIVE! 2 is a three day event that consists of:
- Workshops: Theoretical and hands-on experience with IPv6
- Perspectives: Case studies from experts who have done it before
- Functional steps: Presentations from experts on each of the steps involved in doing an IPv6 trial
NOVEMBER 1: TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS
The day will start with a lecture on the basics of IPv6. After the coffee break attendees will join one of the workshop tracks for the rest of the day. Hands-on seats for the workshops are available on a first come, first served, basis. Availability will be based on the conference registration date. Students will be given instructions on how to request their place upon conference registration. All workshops are currently available.

This workshop has 20 hands-on seats.
Bill Cerveny - Senior Engineer, Arbor Networks
John Spence - VP IP Services, Nephos6
11:15 Workshop 2: Intermediate to Advanced v6
You've been to an IPv6 class or seminar, you have some idea of IPv6 addresses and you've seen a demo of getting some routers talking over IPv6. Maybe you've even gotten a tunnel working to a tunnel provider. Now you want to know more about how it all works together with servers, client machines, multiple local subnets.
We'll take you back through the basics quickly, to make sure you have all the key concepts, then help you understand some of the consequences of stateful vs. stateless autoconfiguration, central IP address management vs distributed/local management. We'll talk a bit about transition strategies. We'll also cover some of the gotchas as you move further away from the network core and move to the edges or up the protocol stack.
This workshop has 16 hands-on seats and students are required to bring a laptop with a browser that supports Java to participate. Verify Java operations at this website: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.
Paul Ebersman - IPv6 Evangelist, Infoblox
Jeff Carrell - Network Security Consultant, Network Conversions
Sponsor Workshop and Demonstration by A10: Beginner to Intermediate v6
Enable your existing IPv4 services on IPv6 with SLB-PT/SLB64
Today services supporting enterprises (web servers, email servers, and more) are available on IPv4 but not always IPv6. In this hands-on session students will enable existing IPv4 servers to provide content via IPv6 without having to modify the IPv4 server. In addition to the hands-on lab discussion on pre-requisites, best practices and "gotchas" for IPv6 enablement will be covered.
Length: 1 hour 30 lecture and hand-on workshop.
This workshop has 20 hands-on seats and students are required to bring a laptop with administrator rights to participate.
Carrier IPv6 Solution lecture and demo
This workshop will cover an introduction and show a live demo for each of the following topics:
- NAT64/DNS64
-Improving IPv6 access to IPv4 resources - DS-Lite
-Enable IPv6 and IPv4 access for legacy clients (encapsulated) over a single IPv6 only network - Carrier Grade NAT (CGN)/Large Scale NAT/NAT444
-IPv4 preservation technique, also used, and a requirement of DS-Lite
Length: 1 hour 30 discussion and live demo.
Dimitri Desmidt - A10 Networks
Demonstration Session by Brocade: Beginner to Intermediate v6
IPv6 Transition Deployment: Architectures and Lessons Learned
This session will detail real-world lessons learned and new Best Practices yielded from dozens of production IPv6 and NAT deployments (both large and small).
While basics will be briefly discussed as they relate to each topic, this session is targeted at those already comfortable with IPv6 fundamentals who are early in their own production/trial deployments.
Categories of topics include selection of topologies/HA/routing protocols, NAT64 and DNS64 best practices, and (often amusing) observations from a wide variety of deployments.
Participants may bring laptops with their protocol analyzer of choice (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.); ports will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Duration: ~3 hours
Jeff Hartley and Deepak Kothari - Brocade
